Movements

I have been fascinated over the last several weeks to watch Tunisia, then Egypt and now Libya and Bahrain and maybe Yemen be shaken and thrown open by the actions of “regular people” who are coming together to dream and declare that life *could be* and should be different, better, more free and more open.

No one knows how the next months and years will shape up for these countries or other troubled places around the globe that are sure to see hope in what is happening, but it is an exciting and inspiring time. Though I hate to see the suffering and death, it is clear that it is a price that many willingly pay.

Seeing people who are willing to risk so much and pull together against seemingly insurmountable odds inspires me. In my home country(USA) and where I am now (Japan), I see so many people who have so much, but do not really seem to have a purpose for living. There is nothing exciting to live for, much less die for. So many are purposeless, apathetic and lost.

Of course, from my perspective, we do have something that is worth living and dying for! We have a King (the real King of Kings) who is infinitely good. His territory has been taken over by a temporary usurper. Our mission is to retake His “land”.

Jesus said, “All Authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…” Which part of “All” do we fail to understand? If he has it ALL then the other side must have None.

I long to see a movement!! It is the kind of thing I literally dream about. I want to see groups of people come together in His Name and for His purpose and commit to Him and to one another that they will follow Him wherever He leads.

As we have seen over and over again recently, all it takes to see the world changed is a few people who are willing to join together and take a risk for something greater and more. Others will be inspired and join in.
